Homewood Suites by Hilton Mont-Tremblant Resort

Trying to sleep, I kept hearing strange mechanical ticks or bangs. The bedding felt like plastic, and the toilet paper was one ply. Some staff were friendly and helpful, while others were strange and unhelpful, so service was mixed. It’s an odd little place, but fine, not great. The village location is good, and breakfast was fine. The suites with kitchens barely have anything, not even a bottle opener. There’s one elevator bank, followed by a long hallway to some rooms. A couple of small stair sets along it mean a luggage trolley can’t reach what seems to be about two thirds of the rooms.

The breakfast was the weak point. The setting felt uninspired, and the food was quite average. There were too many single-use plastics, including yogurt, jams, butter, pork rillettes, juice glasses, and individually wrapped boiled eggs. I brought my own bread and cheese, hoping to make the joyless experience a little better. For a three-night stay in mid-December at a premium price of $3000, I expected a better quality and more sustainable food offering. The room was wonderful and the village location was great. Our one-bedroom plus loft suite had nice decor, well-designed rooms, a big bath, and a decent kitchen. Everyone was friendly.

The kitchenette is a must in Tremblant, where food is ridiculously expensive everywhere, and the room was very big. We also loved the hot tub and sauna. The location deserves six stars: it’s right in the centre of town and just a two-minute walk to the chairlift. Check-in is easy to reach by a different road, with the front desk and underground parking right there. I’d absolutely stay here again.

The staff were wonderful, friendly, helpful, and accommodating. I arrived earlier than expected, and they kindly got me a room right away. I stayed two nights during the week and had a very pleasant experience overall. My room was spacious, bright, and comfortable, and the air conditioning kept it at a pleasant temperature. A couple of things fell short: the TV isn’t smart, and breakfast was below expectations, with most dishes lukewarm and a limited selection. Even with those issues, I was comfortable thanks to the great staff and quality of the room. Better breakfast and in-room amenities could make the stay even better.
