Chateau Versailles

The rooms are small, which made sense in a historic building, but everything was clean and well looked after. We found the staff helpful and friendly, and the continental breakfast was generous, with cold cuts, cheese, hard boiled eggs, cereal, bread and fruit. The location right on Sherbrooke was great for walking around. We'd definitely stay again.

The continental breakfast was a nice extra, and the staff were great and accommodating. The building has charming history, with a little wear that's understandable given its age, and the hotel was clean. I really enjoyed my stay at Chateau Versailles. Thanks for a wonderful visit, I'll be back.

We were upgraded to the executive suite, and it was really pretty. The building has so much history that we were pretty sure our room was haunted, LOL. Breakfast wasn't much to write home about, but it was free, and you're only a five minute walk from an amazing cafe for a delicious pastry. There are tons of good restaurants and things to do within walking distance, and the front desk staff were a lot of fun.

The booking became so stressful that we ultimately cancelled, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel for an event or a stay. We were arranging rooms for our wedding weekend and clearly told the hotel that four adults would be in the suite. When our preferred suite wasn't available, they offered another one, which we accepted and paid for in full. It cost more than twice what the original suite would have. Only after everything was settled did we check the occupancy ourselves and learn the suite allowed just two guests. If we hadn't asked, we'd have arrived on our wedding weekend with four people expecting to stay there and only found out at check-in. Their proposed fix was a cot for a third person and a second room for the fourth, priced at nearly twice the original suite. That would have meant paying a lot more because of their mistake, and would have ruined our plan to stay together the night before the wedding. Other guests had trouble getting clear information about valet parking. They were told they could pay, but parking might not be available and couldn't be guaranteed. Some families were told their children might have to sleep in separate rooms on different floors. For a group booking tied to a wedding, the organization and communication were shocking. It caused unnecessary stress during planning, and the lack of professionalism and attention to detail is concerning. This hotel doesn't even deserve one star.
