Breakfast was good and the staff were pleasant, though housekeeping was questionable. I asked to have extra towels sent to my room, but they never arrived. The sink drained extremely slowly. On the last morning, black gunk actually backed up into it. I suggested using some Draino.

The price of a hotel doesn’t excuse dirt. I wasn’t expecting luxury, just basic hygiene, and I ended up getting sick. We all did, and were vomiting on the last day. I can’t say for sure the room caused it, but it’s a strong possibility. We were visiting family and only used the hotel at night, then on the last day when we were sick. It was our first and last time there. We’ll never return. The first room had a sofa bed with a dirty mattress covered in dust and stains. We complained at reception and were moved to a room with two beds. That made us uncomfortable because we’d planned for our teenage son to sleep on the sofa bed, not with one of us. We arrived late, so I just turned down the beds and checked the sheets. The room had a very unpleasant musty smell, which I eventually realized was cigarette smoke. In daylight the next day, I spotted even more disgusting things: stains on the outside of the toilet, dust everywhere, mold on the walls, and stains of dubious origin on the headboards. I complained at reception about the smell and asked them to at least disinfect, but they ignored me.

The stay itself was good, peaceful, and pleasant. My problem is the deposit: I still haven’t received the $150 back since November 19. Today is January 15, and after calling several times, I’ve been told it was confirmed and would be sent, but nothing has arrived. It’s a shame. They should improve how they handle payments, especially debit card transactions like mine.

We got two rooms for a really low price, which is hard to find. The rooms were clean and roomy, and the staff were helpful and friendly. One washroom door was barely attached, but otherwise everything was fine. The neighborhood looked a bit sketchy when I checked it on Google, between some rough areas, though nothing happened while we were there, so maybe we were lucky. It's by the highway and close to the Botanical Gardens. I'd book again for that price.
