Le Petit Hôtel Vieux-Montréal | Notre-Dame

The hotel doesn't offer much in the way of amenities, but we enjoyed the complimentary barista coffee and the breakfast pastries were lovely. For a first visit to Montreal, the location was ideal, just a five-minute walk from the subway and right beside Notre Dame in Old Montreal. I booked a medium room, which felt spacious, and the styling and finishes made it comfortable. The bathroom was fairly compact but stood out, with stone finishes that felt more like a four-star hotel and a great multi-head shower. I had a great experience here.

The staff, including housekeeping, were exceptionally kind and professional, always going out of their way to help. I also loved being able to get fresh coffee and pastries in the morning or whenever, and breakfast was a delight. This is a sweet little boutique-style hotel, with newer facilities and everything you could need. The “Medium” room worked for us, though anything smaller wouldn't have. Montreal has plenty of choices, but I'd recommend this place to anyone who enjoys boutique lodging.

It's a clean, decent place, but I found it overpriced for what it offers. The location is great for getting around, and the staff are polite. Hot drinks and coffee are available all day, though the espresso was very bitter and stale, and the machine needs cleaning. There isn't a proper desk in the rooms, and noise carries: you can hear other hotel guests, as well as people yelling to each other in the area late at night, any day of the week. Breakfast is minimal, with only one non-dairy option. They have cured meat, cheese, smoked salmon, yogurt, bread, spreads, and juice.

I booked at the last minute after realizing I'd forgotten to find somewhere to stay, and couldn't have picked better. The location, facilities, staff, breakfast, and all the classy little touches were great. There were good breakfast options and coffee whenever I wanted it, even a hot chocolate at bedtime.
