The room was one of the nicest I’ve stayed in, with a beautiful design and lots of thoughtful details. Staff were warm, cheerful and quick to help, and the area was easy to explore on foot. I also appreciated the daily room delivery of banana bread and yogurt with granola. I eat gluten-free, so being able to have the yogurt and berries was great. Our first night was a Saturday, when the restaurant becomes a nightclub. Bass came through the room and could be felt until after midnight. Earplugs were provided, but didn’t block the low sounds, and there was street noise as well. Light sleepers should keep that in mind. The heat pump, which we were told to use as a fan, was hard to operate even though we have the same model at home. It beeped and flashed an error overnight, waking us up. I’d asked in advance for a fan and kettle, but was told to use the heat pump and that kettles weren’t available. The Nespresso pod holder was empty on our first day. I drink tea, so an in-room kettle would have made mornings easier, though staff gladly brought hot water when asked. We were missing bath towels on the first day, and there was very little storage, just a coat rack and one shelf, so we kept everything in our suitcase. The entry felt cramped, and hooks might work better than the standing rack. There’s no elevator, and reception is on the second floor, so luggage has to go up the stairs. Even with those practical snags, the lovely space and kind staff stood out. A few functional fixes would make the place close to perfect.

The room had a sexy but refined feel, with beautiful design and lighting, and a minibar stocked with good products. I travel often for work and leisure, and it’s been a while since I’ve had customer service this good, from check-in through breakfast delivered to the room. I loved every minute and would highly recommend a stay. Thanks to the team at La Maison.

The rooms are beautiful and opulent, more like a lavish spa than a hotel. But the service is what made this the best hotel experience I’ve had. I’ve stayed at some of the world’s best hotels and had incredible staff, yet Maison Grinder outdid them all. I won’t get into the details, but during our stay the staff went far beyond their jobs to help my fiancée and me with a few small issues that weren’t the hotel’s fault. They gave us unbelievably good service. Leandra deserves management’s attention and a bonus for her exceptional care and diligence. A true MVP. We’ll be back. This is our new home away from home in Montreal. The team has earned a customer for life and my endorsement. If you’re considering staying here, do it!

Maison Grinder is my new Montreal home. We had a fantastic overnight stay, with a quiet, comfortable room and exceptional staff who were friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was wonderful for finding food and wandering around.

The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the room looked beautiful. Leandre was so sweet, and the staff really went above and beyond to make the stay memorable. We had an amazing time, would highly recommend it and will definitely be back.
