The room is older, but it’s clean and has a good TV with plenty of channels. The woman at the front desk was very nice and went over what I needed to know about things like cleaning and wifi. I’d seen mixed reviews online and wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’ve found it comfortable and pretty good for the nightly price. I haven’t slept in the bed yet, though it feels comfortable. No issues so far, and I’d recommend it if this kind of motel works for you.

We love how unpretentious it is, with no pricey bells and whistles, just a neat, clean place in beautiful countryside. It’s our favourite 1960’s motel, and we travel three hours out of our way to stay here!

A little dated, but the room was really clean. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

I’ve read some of the negative reviews, and they seem unfair to me. This place doesn’t pretend to be the Hilton. The price is among the lowest in town, and for that you get good value, a safe and pleasant stay, and a warm welcome. The Star Motel may be a bit dated, but it’s comfortable and clean, with tidy rooms and genuinely kind people running it. You can tell the owners care about both the property and their guests. For the price, it’s absolutely worth it.

This was the worst place we’ve stayed. The door had a gap that let loads of bugs in, and they crawled over the walls and us. There was a sticky trap hanging from the ceiling and a fly swatter, but killing them just seemed to bring another bunch. The only chair was broken, and the bathroom floor was gross. They’d put new linoleum on the shower wall instead of fixing the floor. These are inexpensive fixes that need attention.
