Cabin 1 is cozy and spotless. The name really doesn't do this place justice. I'll definitely try to book it again when I'm back.

The high ceilings and huge bathroom were two of my favorite things, and it was lovely having Wi-Fi too. Such a beautiful, peaceful place. This is easily my favorite Airbnb I've ever stayed in. I'd give it more than five stars if I could.

That one crossroads about 7 km before you arrive could use a sign, but that's my only suggestion. LDR is an amazing place, and you should plan to stay at least one night. I had my coffee looking out at the young trees, with the forest smell and the river's rushing sound around me. We also shared the fireplace with a family from the cabin next door, which was such a joy. How could I give it anything but five stars?

The lodge was far more beautiful than I'd expected, and after years of travel I felt it was the best value I'd come across. I first worried that the price was too high for me, but after another Airbnb turned us away because of our legally registered service dog, we had few options. Our grandchildren were tired and needed a place to stop for the night. The family welcomed us warmly. You can see years of care and thought in the lodge's details, and the surroundings are beautiful too. The owner, her husband, and their daughter were among the kindest, hardest-working people I've met. I travel through the area twice a year between my home in Alaska and my farm in Colorado, and I plan to stay here often from now on.

April even mailed back something I'd forgotten, and did it quickly. I can't recommend the place enough. We had a ladies' birthday weekend at the Chalet, and April made us a delicious dinner on our first night. The scenery is unreal, and the gorgeous Chalet has so many thoughtful extras: handmade log bed frames, a lovely cedar sauna, and a wood-fired pizza oven. Everything we needed was provided, and all the beds were really comfortable.
