Vivian Motor Hotel

For people who look for the lowest priced place, this was a decent improvement over plenty of rooms with nasty carpets and lumpy, saggy beds. The bed was surprisingly decent, the carpet in the room was in okay shape, and the town was reasonably quiet. The fridge had a bit of goo in it, but cleanliness overall was okay. The staff kindly lent us their own cutlery when we'd forgotten ours at home, which we really appreciated. Still, it felt a bit sketchy, and the hallway was one of the worst we've seen, very run down, with mattresses left in it. The room had no dryer, microwave, shampoo, spare blanket, or iron. We froze because the bedding was just a sheet and an ultralight coverlet. Nobody was manning the front desk, and there was no number to call, so we ended up waiting on the stairs just to get our cash deposits back before leaving.

I came in to return some bottles, and the nice woman at the front desk helped sort them out and processed my refund. Then I walked through a door into the hottest bar in Neepawa, got a shot of jager and a Red Bull, and downed both. I spent some time in the smoking area vaping and chatting with the locals until it was time to go. And then....

It was a fun time that happened on the spur of the moment, depending on what you're there for. The bartenders treated me really well, too.

Cozy little bar, and the atmosphere was friendly. I'll be back for another visit soon.
