Waterfront Inn

The servers at Waterfront were very good, but the owner or manageress came across as rude and unwelcoming. Maybe she was having a bad day, which is a shame. The chicken in the salad I had this weekend was so tough I saved it for the dog. I had a chicken salad at McDonalds today, and its chicken was much more tender.

The speed test came back at 2 Mbps down, with the server in Toronto. Even a short YouTube video wouldn’t play smoothly, and clicking anything took ages to get a response. I kept getting disconnected, and once I was online again, it wouldn’t reconnect for over half an hour. The error said there weren’t enough IPs to assign. Internet is a basic service at any hotel, and this connection was painfully slow and unreliable. Hopefully other guests have more patience than I did. I expected the basics to work better.

You’re only about 60 feet from the beach and lake, so I’d love to stay here in summer. The room was clean, the bed was very comfortable, and the free breakfast did the trick. The lake view was lovely, the front desk lady was friendly, and it’s pet friendly, though a bit overpriced. Tim Hortons and the LCBO are across the parking lot. One letdown: the website said we’d have free access to the pool next door, but that wasn’t true. The pool was also supposed to be open until 7 p.m. and closed at 5. That’s not Waterfalls Inn’s fault, though. I’ll definitely book again.

From the outside it looks like a pretty average hotel, but the rooms were very clean and well kept. The bed and bathroom were clean too, and the bed was comfortable. We stayed in a balcony room and could leave the door open to enjoy a nice breeze off the lake. The nearby restaurant was great as well. My boyfriend sometimes stays here for work, so I joined him for a night and loved it. I’d definitely recommend the place.
