Falls Lodge by the Falls

The location was the only thing that would make me consider this place, since there are better options for the same or lower price. The rooms were nice and the beds comfortable, but we never got room service and had to make the beds and organize everything ourselves. The TV remote was missing. When we called, they said we had to come get one if we needed it, which seemed absurd when we were paying for service. The sink was clogged and became unusable by our last day. The fridge barely chilled our sodas, though there was also a microwave we didn't use. Parking cost an extra $15. While I was sitting outside for fresh air, I saw a giant rat and wondered if the place was hygienic. Breakfast wasn't very good and options were limited, so I just had waffles and yogurt. The receptionist didn't smile when we arrived, but we let that go.

For the price, this is a good place to stay for a couple of nights. The rooms were clean, the beds very comfortable, and there was a fridge and microwave. There's a small swimming pool. Breakfast is free from 7 to 10, I believe, but we didn't try it, so I can't comment on it. There's no hairdryer in the room, though they can provide one if you call the main office. Parking costs extra if you need it.

I checked out after being told there were no rooms left when I tried to add another night, even though the booking site had shown several available. About half an hour later, I looked again and multiple rooms were listed. It made me wonder if they simply didn't want me to stay. The night before, I hadn't known visitors weren't allowed, and the front desk kept calling about my friends until we left. We weren't being loud, and I could hear people next door and others going in and out of their room more than us. I wish the visitor rule had been made clear. If you stay here, be sure you know the policies, since they may not tell you about them.

The location worked well for getting to the falls, and bus passes were available close to the motel. Breakfast was a nice bonus, with waffles, toast, muffins, cereal, yogurt, fruit, and drinks. Our room was clean and felt fresh, the AC worked great, and the office staff were helpful. The outdoor pool was great too. Diamond!
