Rodeway Inn Fallsview

I was only there for one night, and the stay felt pretty ordinary. The location is very good, and the attendants were great. The rooms were okay, and the bathroom was clean. I didn't really like the corridors leading to the rooms.

The room seemed like it could've been a great place to sleep back in the 60s, but it hasn't been looked after. There were stains on the carpet and chipped bathroom tiles, and we were honestly worried about bed bugs. Another couple ahead of us in line said their room was in such bad shape that they had to go back to the front desk. The pool was empty and looked unused for years. The location is solid, close to plenty of things and about a 15 minute walk to the falls view, but over $200 a night was ridiculous. Having to pay a deposit at check-in felt wrong too. I'm being generous calling it a 2/5 inn. It could be something if it were updated or felt clean.

The room came with a $200 deposit, and parking cost another $20 even though I'd booked a room. The TV didn't work, and the carpet smelled bad and was stained and filthy. The $50 plus taxes easily comes to around $100, and at that rate you can find better places with breakfast. Zero stars all the way!

This was our seventh stay, and definitely our last. We had reserved an exterior corridor room like the ones we'd always stayed in, as the site indicated. The room was paid for a week earlier, but they put a deposit on our card six hours before we arrived. At check-in they said we had a room on the "tower" side because the exterior section was CLOSED DOWN THAT SIDE FOR WINTER. I asked why no one told us weeks earlier, since I would've gone elsewhere. We reluctantly took a first-floor room, but the hall stank and the floor was disgustingly stained from the window to the door. I took pictures and asked for another room. They moved us to a cleaner second-floor room. The next day, Saturday, we saw people staying in the exterior rooms. A man checking in while we waited because our key card wouldn't work got one too. When I asked why we couldn't have one the night before, the worker said they only opened them for ONE NIGHT. I was unhappy. It was wrong to let us book that room, say it was closed, then open it for others. We had to stay in the tower room again. Those rooms aren't soundproof, you can hear neighbours peeing and talking. The rooms had no fridge or microwave, and the ice machine was dirty. BAIT AND SWITCH, DIRTY ROOMS. AVOID.
