Hilton Garden Inn Toronto/Oakville

I booked for three people, but there were never enough water bottles in the room, and housekeeping didn’t replenish them. I also left early after being promised a refund for the remaining days, but I still haven’t received it. The breakfast was very limited, and the pancakes were dry and hard. Basic items such as slippers, toothbrushes, and toothpaste weren’t provided either, which surprised me for a hotel in this category. Sleeping was difficult: the pillows gave almost no support, and both they and the mattress were extremely uncomfortable. The bedding was cheap synthetic material rather than cotton, and it didn’t look like it had been changed, just made up again. I even found someone else’s hair in the bed. The floors and carpets weren’t properly cleaned, and there was an unpleasant old smell in both the room and hotel. This was a very poor stay, far below what I expect from Hilton. I wouldn’t come back or recommend it.

There was no parking available over the weekend, which made an already frustrating stay worse. The rooms were in poor condition, with visibly stained carpets that needed proper cleaning, and the service wasn’t friendly. The manager was very rude when we dealt with them. Given the state of the rooms and the service, the price felt much too high.

The location worked well for me, with restaurants and markets nearby, and there’s plenty of parking. The hotel was clean, quiet, and comfortable, with excellent service. Breakfast usually isn’t part of the room rate, but you can choose to pay for the buffet.

This place is filthy, like it hasn’t had a deep clean in months. Just imagining what a black light inspection might show in the carpets and linens makes me cringe. It has the Hilton name, but not the quality I’d expect from Hilton. You can’t assume that being a Hilton means it’ll be good anymore.
