Quality Inn and Suites Oakville-Mississauga

The staff were caring, the rooms were clean, and breakfast was included. We had a TV, table and chair, fridge, microwave, iron, coffee, tea, clean towels, and fresh bed sheets. Really good service and a great experience. The location worked well for me since I needed to go to Hamilton and Niagara Falls the next day. Hamilton was a 30-minute drive, and Niagara was 30 minutes from Hamilton.

The bed was comfortable, the room seemed clean, and it was nice and quiet. Breakfast started after 6am, with a small but good buffet. Still, I’d probably stay somewhere else if I needed to return. I was there for five work days and was told a credit card was required, so I was glad I brought mine. They put a $300 damage hold on it, treated like a separate purchase. My room was already fully paid, and I wondered whether they would have turned me away without the card. There was quite a bit of damage in the room, which I reported right away. The staff were friendly but didn’t seem concerned. The sink had four cracks, the ceiling showed water damage, the desk lamp was badly rusted, the bathroom door was in rough shape, and the carpet was fraying at the edge. Housekeeping came once, on day four. They remade the bed but didn’t change the sheets, which looked very slept in.

The service was average, and the stress of a $300 hold wasn’t worth it. Guests should be told about this security deposit before they arrive. It wasn’t clearly mentioned to me, and having the money tied up for days was a major inconvenience. At check-in, if you don’t have that amount available, you can lose the money or have your reservation get messed up. I wouldn’t recommend booking here unless you’re ready for the hold and the risk of your money being stuck.

My family was thinking of booking here and asked me whether the hotel had a charging station. When I drove by a week ago, gas cars were blocking every charging spot. The chargers had been taken off their hooks and thrown on the ground, covered in snow and ice. That’s unacceptable. People driving out of town who need to charge their cars can’t use the spaces when they’re blocked and the chargers are left on the ground.
