Atlanta Motel

After the police had checked things out and found no reason for us to leave, the motel staff still told me to get out with about seven minutes to pack. My boyfriend, a military veteran, had already gone. I was left to move everything alone with my two service dogs. I’d just bought dishes to make food in the room, so I had to hitch a shopping cart to a wagon and haul it all outside. It was difficult and humiliating. I’d stayed two nights at the Atlanta Motel in Orangeville last July. My service dogs were quiet in the room, and my boyfriend stayed one night. His dogs stayed in his truck. Staff kept complaining about my dogs, then called police saying they were barking and bothering other guests. The officers found no issue that required us to leave, and a neighboring guest said they hadn’t heard barking. It felt like staff simply didn’t want dogs at the motel and made a situation to push me out. My dogs were legitimate service animals and weren’t disturbing anyone. I wouldn’t recommend bringing dogs here, and travelers with service animals or pets should think carefully before booking. I had a similar experience at the Headwaters Lodge, a direct competitor of the Atlanta Motel, where the owner kept most of my deposit after telling us to leave. His drunk tenants were harassing me and my dogs. I recommend neither place. The Headwaters Lodge is cursed too.
