Best Western Plus Mariposa Inn & Conference Centre

I’ve stayed here a few times and tried other hotels nearby, but Shianne at the front desk is what made me stop choosing based on the best rate. Late one night I had a family emergency and needed help. She acted immediately and did the right thing without hesitation. Her willingness to sort out an unexpected problem for a customer she didn’t know really showed her character. The rooms and location were good, too. I hope she gets recognition for doing the right thing, and that the franchise mentors her. I expect great things from her.

Our room was in decent shape, though cleanliness was a concern. The hotel’s value was reasonable and it was generally acceptable, but staff made the stay disappointing. Jenna at the front desk was rude, unwelcoming, and aggressive with our family. We were repeatedly accused of breaking policies, but she couldn’t prove it because we hadn’t broken the rules. Our family and the others travelling with us tried to avoid a confrontation, yet it felt like she kept coming after all of us. The male front desk employee was kind, polite, and helpful. The manager apologized, but didn’t resolve things after we brought the problem to their attention. It put a dark cloud over our stay, and I’d steer people away because of what we experienced.

A note to sports teams: please avoid this hotel if you’re looking for a group block for your players and families. We stayed Jan 2-4th, 2026. I won’t list the reasons because, based on earlier reviews, the General Manager will come along and post nonsense underneath. Please take your team somewhere else. For anyone else considering it, the staff were incredibly rude to adults and children. Connor and Thomas were the only pleasant staff we encountered, and that was only a small part of our stay. Spend your money elsewhere.

I left messages and feedback about my stay and am still waiting for a response. The lobby fireplace melted my son’s coat on contact. That’s a serious safety hazard, and the problem remains unresolved. If it’s hot enough to melt clothing when touched, there should be proper safety measures. Management has offered no resolution for the hazard or the damage to his coat.
