Days Inn by Wyndham Orillia

Ellen, the general manager, really went out of her way for us. My daughter left her sweatshirt behind, and at first it seemed to be lost. Ellen suspected it had been mixed in with the bedding and sent to the off-site laundry with the sheets. I wasn't sure we'd ever get it back, but she called to say it had been found, washed, and then sent it to us by UPS at no charge. I'm so grateful for her help, and we'll definitely return. The hotel is clean and budget friendly, about a 10-15 minute walk from the Casino because the driveway is long. The beds are comfortable, and rooms have a microwave, coffee maker and coffee, plus a small fridge. There’s a pool and a small workout room, and breakfast is mainly continental, which was fine. The front desk staff were friendly, especially Pat and Brian.

The room was reasonably clean, but it was disappointing that there was nowhere to get drinking water. There wasn't a dispenser, just a vending machine. When we asked at the desk, the night staff member, who was rude while the other staff were polite, said we could use the sink for tap water. That left a bad impression. Breakfast was basic, with cold eggs, waffles, toast, and juice, and there wasn't much seating, so eating comfortably was a hassle. All the utensils were plastic, which also didn't feel right for a hotel. For the price, it wasn't a pleasant stay.

I had a great stay, and the staff were so welcoming. I couldn't sleep during Rob's night shift, and really enjoyed chatting with him. Brian also went out of his way to make my accommodations extra nice. I'll definitely be back!

The rooms and beds were clean and comfortable, and there was free wifi and breakfast. Service was friendly and efficient too. I rated it four mainly because of the price compared with what you get. We paid $350 plus tax on a Friday night, probably because it's near Casino Rama and picks up overflow bookings when the casino is full.
