About two hours after checkout, the owner called to say they'd found a large bed bug in our blankets. He asked if we'd stayed at other hotels lately, and we said we hadn't. He said they'd never had bed bug concerns. I started researching because I'd never dealt with this before. We washed and dried everything, including the clothes we were wearing, inspected it all, and wiped it down with rubbing alcohol. We used a hair dryer on our shoes too, following the recommendations we found online. I knew we'd never had an issue before, but at home I still checked our bedding, mattresses, box springs, and headboards, including my son's bed. I'm stressed and anxious about a possible infestation and will keep checking daily for weeks, maybe months. I think they should refund us. The owner said they had done a full inspection and found only the one bug. I also wanted to warn others to be cautious and inspect their rooms. Later that night, I read the negative reviews and saw at least five other reports of bedbugs over the last 7 to 8 years. I wish my husband had never booked this place, and I'll be extremely cautious from now on. When we first arrived, the hotel looked very old and run down, and the bathroom didn't seem especially clean. The bed looked clean, and it was comfortable. The shower was hot and worked well, but I won't stay here again. We were there last night, Saturday August 23rd, in room 112. I'll inspect every hotel room before settling in from now on.

The beds are comfortable, the prices are great, and the owner is very kind. I'll definitely come back if I need somewhere to sleep.

I booked through expedia and paid for a one-bed room. At check-in, I found two beds, but the agent hadn't said anything, so I assumed they were out of one-bed rooms. My friend and I slept separately and checked out the next morning. A week later I saw a $20 charge from the property on my credit card. When I called to ask what it was for, I was immediately told we'd left a stain on the sheets. I asked what the stain was, and the manager said he'd need to look through his photos. When I questioned how he'd come up with the reason so quickly, he said stains were rare and he'd send me pictures. I asked again what the stain was, and then his explanation changed: he said we'd booked one bed, he had given us two, and we'd used both. I told him no one had mentioned a fee for using the second bed, or even told us there was a second bed in the room. He replied, 'well that's just common sense, isn't it.' I said it would be common sense to tell guests about possible extra charges and asked for a refund. He told me to take it up with my credit card company. TL; DR, this hotel is shady, charging guests extra after checkout without telling them.

The owners were so friendly that I’d happily stay here again. I only booked one night at first, then decided to see if I could add another, and I could. At checkout my car wouldn’t start because I’d left the lights on. I asked the owner to call a towing company for a boost, but he told me not to waste the money and brought out a portable booster himself. That saved me $60.

I’m back in Ontario after moving from Alberta and needed somewhere I could stay by the week. Most places were at least $100 a night, but AJ worked out a price that fit my budget. He’s owned the hotel for less than a year. It’s dated, sure, but clean and still a work in progress.
