TownePlace Suites by Marriott Oshawa

The kids loved how much room there was around the pool for sitting and watching them swim. We had a great one-night stay as a family, and our room was spotless with everything we needed. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including coffee, and the staff kindly lent the kids board games when they asked.

The room was really clean, and the hotel seemed nice overall. Check-in took longer than I expected, especially since I’d already completed everything with my Bonvoy membership. We were put in an accessible room that we didn’t need. I’m not sure if every shower is arranged this way, but its controls were on the side wall and might get in someone’s way. The hot water took ages to come through, though it was fine once it did. Some rooms are quite a walk down the hallway. Breakfast was included and looked like the usual Marriott spread, though I didn’t try it. We only stayed one night.

We’ve stayed here several times before with sports teams, so when car trouble stranded me and my 15-year-old son on the way to London, we knew where to stop. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the place was clean, and the food was really good. Management understood our situation and offered a late checkout because our vehicle wasn’t ready until much later the next day. While we waited for most of the day in one of the nice lounge areas, the kitchen brought us waters, coffee, and an extra sandwich to share. Thanks for making a lousy end to the weekend easier to handle. I’m sure we’ll be back :)

We pulled in on the way to PEC and grabbed a quick lunch at The Bistro in the lobby. That Turkey Avocado BLT was the best I’ve ever had, with crispy fries on the side, and everything tasted fresh. I enjoyed every bite. There’s plenty of room to relax and eat, and the staff were courteous and friendly. A great stop on an eastbound road trip.
