The courtyard, gardens, and pool area are well kept, and the beach is about a three-minute walk away. But we were put in a separate building across the alley, where the owners live upstairs and have made four suites downstairs. It sits right on Highway 3, so traffic and footsteps overhead were noisy. When I asked to move, they said no. If they offer you the “other building” at check-in, be aware of what that means. Rates also vary a lot, so check carefully.

Trying to sort out check-in was stressful and unprofessional. I booked for myself and my family, then noticed in the confirmation email that the desk closed at 10 p.m. and we wouldn't arrive in time. Three different people offered to charge my card over the phone and leave a key somewhere they wouldn't disclose. I wasn't comfortable with that, so I asked to cancel. The manager refused and wanted the booking site to charge us for the full night anyway. The site wouldn't help either. I won't stay here or use that booking site again.

The room wasn't very clean, and they didn't provide towels or anything. They also kept my deposit. I had told the man a week beforehand that I would stay for just one month, but after checkout he insisted I'd promised to stay longer and acted as if I hadn't told him.
