We came for two nights just to get away from home, and had some mixed feelings. The bed was very comfortable, the views were great, and we loved having two corners in the room and getting to see the sunrise. The location was also great, with everything we wanted nearby, and we had a great time seeing the Magic of Lights. Room service food was good, though I would have liked more dinner choices. The bathroom felt outdated, with a small tub and a small, dark shower. We brought our dog and understood paying a pet fee for the extra cleaning, but both area rugs were covered in dog hair and clearly hadn't been vacuumed properly in a long time. I'd get rid of those old rugs since they add nothing and collect hair and dirt. It would also help to keep luggage trolleys in the indoor parking, so guests don't have to unload at the entrance, check in, take everything to the room, then go back down to park underground.

The hotel had a lively feel during the tournament, with PWHL fans in town and a fun buzz that made Brookstreet feel part of the event. It's the official hotel of the Ottawa Senators and is known for hosting visiting teams and hockey fans. This was my first stay, and it was comfortable from start to finish: the place felt clean and well run, the staff were welcoming, the room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. On-site dining, a spa, fitness facilities, pools, live jazz, kids' activities, and secure underground parking all added to the appeal. For a tournament weekend, it was a convenient, polished, lively place for both adults and families.

Everyone at Brookstreet Hotel was outstanding, from door security and the front desk to the restaurant servers. They were polite, helpful, and accommodating, and Roger and Alberto in events/catering and banquet operations were especially wonderful to work with. Their team made us feel our event was in good hands. I stayed for a family event held at this elegant, well-maintained Kanata hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and there were plenty of amenities, including a jazz bar with live music and a nice restaurant serving tasty, fresh food. The banquet facilities were excellent. After staying for a week, I won't be returning to Brookstreet. It tries to be an upscale luxury hotel, but misses too many of the everyday comforts I expect from places like Hilton and Marriott. If you're rushing to a morning meeting and have used the two complimentary bottles in the room fridge, there's no water available at the front desk or back room. Other hotels like Hilton will provide some when needed. Brookstreet also lacks digital key cards, and for late checkout you have to go to the front desk instead of calling from your room. They charge the full cost at check-in, while other hotels charge at the end of the stay. When a company books through a travel agent, they can't provide a receipt at checkout or email you a copy, only a paper receipt. I've never had these problems at Hilton or Marriott. There are much cheaper hotel brands that offer better value and a better experience.
