Ramada by Wyndham Ottawa On The Rideau

Loved the river view and the green grounds. So many hotels are all concrete, but this place has grass and lovely landscaping. The rooms were clean, the staff were amazing, and breakfast was good, quick, and easy. Thanks for a great stay. I'll book again in October?

The restaurant staff were awesome, and the service was great from check-in through check-out. Debra was especially welcoming and attentive, and made me feel heard. I'm not great with names, so I may have got Deborah's name wrong, but you'll know who she is once you talk with her. The hotel itself is roughly like any other Ramada in the city. What made my stay special was the staff, and if you're lucky enough to stay here, I think you'll be happy you did.

We come back several times a year because this remains a reliable, good-value option before and after our trips. Free parking is a big plus, and the airport shuttle makes travel easier and less stressful. The rooms are comfortable and have what we need for a short stay. The bathroom could use more space and some updating, but it still works perfectly well. We're always pleased with our stays here.

Our fridge wasn't working, but staff quickly moved us to another room. A few housekeeping details were missed, though, including empty toiletries and a burned-out bulb. The bathroom layout is awkward, with the sink outside the main room, and the walls are thin enough to hear footsteps above. If you can, ask for a second-floor room for more quiet. We booked a river-view room, but the trees block most of the view and the balcony is small, so the extra cost didn't feel worth it. You get a better look at the river by walking outside. There are chairs and canoes by the water, and it's a peaceful place to watch birds, catch a sunset, or see the evening lights. The restaurant food was good, and it was handy to have breakfast and dinner on site. Breakfast had the usual choices, including scrambled eggs and sausages. A party in the hall one night ended early and didn't bother us. It's a lovely hotel in a fantastic setting, with good food and a few small things that could be better.
