Lakeside Villa & Nordic Spa

Ashley was so kind and accommodating, and made us feel right at home. We had a great time and are already planning another trip. The Nordic spa is well worth doing too.

From the street, the color combination made this motel look a little underwhelming, but room 9 was a pleasant surprise. It seemed freshly renovated, was clean, and had everything we needed, even makeup remover towels. The bed was comfortable, and despite being close to the street, the room was fairly quiet. The front desk staff were welcoming and helpful. We also checked out the back area and spa, which were very clean. It was a great stay, and we'd return.

The lake is right across the street, and the location is great for enjoying the Skaha lake side. The rooms were clean, and the staff were fantastic. Out back there's a lovely courtyard where you can barbecue and hang out away from the traffic. The main downside was how loud the traffic was all night right beside the rooms. It's also not within walking distance of many pubs or restaurants.

What really made this place special was the staff. Every person we met was caring, friendly, and wonderful. The courtyard has lots of seating and a lawn for bocce, corn hole, and giant Jenga, while the Nordic spa feels like its own little oasis and is easy to recommend. A coded tunnel leads safely to the private beach. The motel was easy to find and had enough parking for everyone. The rooms are somewhat small, so with more than two kids, consider a larger room or two. There are some cooking utensils and supplies, but bring extras and your favorite frying pan. Friends have made this their annual trip for six years, and we were lucky to join them this year. We booked four nights, then added another. There was construction traffic at the entrance, expected to finish this summer, but it didn't spoil the stay. I thought it was worth mentioning.
