The room was pretty standard, and the TV was small. There’s no heat in the bathroom, the heater was noisy, and you have to go down the hall to use the coffee maker. Breakfast is just Dad's cookies. You also need a key for both the room and the building.

The shower only had hot water for about five minutes, and springs were sticking through the bed. The building heat wasn’t on at all until you switched it on in your room. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at.

There are little stores nearby that my children loved, and plenty of fun things to do in the area, even though it isn’t completely remote. The motel is in a peaceful part of Shakespeare, with spacious rooms, large windows looking out at nature, comfortable bedding, and a calm atmosphere. The people running it were kind and welcoming, helped with all my accommodations, and gave amazing service throughout my stay. It was a lovely setting for a quiet, therapeutic stay.

We left the building after the staff member struggled to find an available room to show us, and the one he tried turned out to be in use. This was at 7 pm. We’d asked to see a room before deciding, after being let into the main hall through a locked door from what was basically a ticket window. We tried the place because the online pictures looked nice, but beware. When somewhere seems cheap, it is!

The furniture and carpet are old, but it was clean, and we weren’t living there. It’s a really nice, clean, family-run hotel. They’re so accommodating and friendly that it almost feels like a B&B.
