We felt well supported during our stay at the Best Western in Port Alberni and would gladly return for another event. We recently hosted a two-day professional development event there, and Vicki helped arrange the catering and conference room setup. Her professionalism, careful attention, and calm support helped everything go smoothly. Annika at the front desk also came to our rescue when we realized we’d forgotten important materials for the sessions. She kindly and efficiently printed them at the last minute, making a stressful situation manageable. Wonderful service from the staff all around.

The staff at this Best Western location were fantastic. The hotel in Port Alberni is quiet and has great amenities, including a sauna, gym, and pool. The gym normally opens at 6 a.m., but the nice lady in the lobby opened it for me at 4:30. I really appreciated that!

The Barclay costs more per night than other places in town, but you get what you pay for. It’s the nicest chain hotel in Port Alberni. The building is generally in good shape, though its age shows a little, and the rooms seem to have been renovated maybe ten years ago and are well maintained. My bed and pillow were comfortable, the blackout curtains made sleeping in easy, and I had no bathroom complaints apart from a plugged tub drain. I didn’t use the pool or hot tub. The fitness center was better than expected, with plenty of equipment and some dumbbells. Front desk staff were friendly, and room service was good. Towels were changed every other day.

I've stayed at this hotel a few times and have always had a great experience, with no complaints. Most recently, I had to cancel because of bad weather, and the staff were understanding and helpful. I'd recommend it.
