Inside, it’s a modest but perfectly good place to stay while passing through town. Don’t let the building’s exterior or the parking lot put you off. I felt safe there and on the street as a woman travelling alone. There’s a tiny, well-stocked gym and a pool, though I didn’t use either. I stayed three nights at the beginning of October after getting a great last-minute deal, which the clerk honoured for the other two nights as well. The location isn’t near tourist spots or shopping, but it worked as a starting point for other destinations, quick food, and the highway. Tim Hortons and McDonalds are within walking distance. Port Alberni itself is only mildly interesting, so I wouldn’t pick it for a romantic or family getaway. Staff at the desk were helpful. I didn’t request much, including room refreshing, but left a good tip anyway. The room was attractively decorated, well stocked, and had a clean bathroom. The furniture was pretty banged up, though everything else, including the HVAC, was perfect. The bed was too hard, and after three nights of back pain and poor sleep, I wouldn’t have stayed a fourth.

Preeti and Jaya gave great customer service. On my trip to Port Alberni, I was impressed by the clean, comfortable room and helpful staff. The calm atmosphere was just what I needed after a long day of travel. I’d definitely stay again.

The front desk is hospitable and friendly, and when we had an issue the first night, they fixed it right away. They clearly value their customers. My brother and I have stayed here whenever we come to town to see family, for over 30 years. We get a nice quiet sleep, the shower pressure is good, and I appreciated the Dove products. There are new owners, and it looks like the hotel is finally getting needed maintenance and updates. They have plans to revive this once popular place. Given the prices and the lack of options in the area, it works just fine. Thanks, HI, for taking care of things.

Our vehicle broke down, so we had to make an emergency stop, and we were glad to stay here. The rooms aren’t new or freshly renovated, but we were satisfied, including our kid. We got good value for the money. The staff were kind and helpful, everything in the room worked, and it was clean.
