The Baldwins Resort

We’ve really enjoyed our stay. There’s an ice rink, a kids’ playground, lots of wildlife, and beautiful, spacious grounds. The rooms are cozy, clean, and comfortable, with the cutest decor, and the night time fires are lovely. The food is excellent and the staff and service are amazing. I’d highly recommend it for a nice little getaway. Thank you so much!

The staff were friendly and accommodating, which helped make up for the dated feel of the place. We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and the BBQ on the property, and the lake is only about 100 feet away. In the main building, our first room had central AC and all the amenities we needed, but hot water took about 10 minutes and we could hear everything next door and downstairs. The next day we were upgraded to a standalone cottage with a patio and a cozy fireplace. The downside was that WiFi didn’t reach the cottage. We had a good stay.

Charlene was so friendly, and our whole family, dog included, felt comfortable and welcome during our two nights. The location was beautiful and very quiet, and the swimming water was crystal clear. We loved having breakfast outdoors each morning in the big Muskoka chairs. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

I’d rate the Maple Leaf Room 3.5 stars, but Google doesn’t allow half stars. The stay was comfortable, and there were some lovely touches: a cozy room, a lounge with a pool table, ping pong, board games and piano, plus a pretty yard with a fire pit. The decor included nutcrackers, miniature models, and a dressed up Christmas tree. The guy in the kitchen was friendly and nice. Food and service could have been better. On the first night, dinner arrived lukewarm or cold because COVID rules said to wait downstairs until we were called, but nobody called us. The guest card said to call for garbage removal and fresh towels, but when I did, it felt like we were asking for a special favor. If those weren’t part of the service, I’m not sure why the card said they were. At checkout, we couldn’t find anyone to hand the suite key to, so we messaged the owner and left it in the suite. We didn’t get a reply.
