The staff were great when I first walked in, but that was the last good thing about the place. There were people who looked homeless in the lobby and outside, and the main doors were smashed. On the way to my room, I saw spit or semen on the floor and blood splatter on some doors. The first floor smelled of drugs, and the bedspread in my room was stained. The outside door was boarded up with a sheet of wood, and everything seemed old or broken. I lasted ten minutes. When I went out for a cigarette before checking out, I met a police officer at the door. I told him, "your presence bodes well," and he looked straight at me and shook his head. Do not stay here.

We had a peaceful, convenient spot for a romantic getaway, and the staff did a lot to make my girlfriend’s birthday feel special. The room was cozy, clean, nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a nice view. They even left a small birthday treat for us. We enjoyed breakfast in the hotel restaurant too, the food was delicious and the service excellent. I’m glad we picked south hill lodge ] for the celebration. It made his birthday memorable. Highly recommended for couples or special occasions, and we’ll be back.

We came in with low expectations, but the hotel turned out great and surpassed them across the board. The staff were professional, and the rooms felt clean and welcoming. It looks like renovations are underway, which is a good sign. We had a great experience and will return.
