Grande maison familial 11 pers with SPA

For a hostel at this price, it wasn't bad, though the cleanliness could be better and the staff should clean the facilities more often. At least it didn't smell like some other hostels, and I think they may have been doing repairs. It was quiet in spring, and a main bus route runs just one block away, making it easy to get around. Thanks to the woman who helped me get a bus pass when I was short on money!

I came in stressed after calling at the last minute to find somewhere to stay. The owner listened carefully, was patient and kind, and paid attention to what I needed. He offered more than just a room. The place was clean, warm, pretty, welcoming, and well kept. My dorm bed was super comfortable, and the nights were quiet and calm. You can choose between cheaper, cute and clean dorms and nice hotel rooms, so it works for different budgets. I really recommend staying here. Thanks so much for helping me feel at home!

The room we were given had peeling paint on the walls and too few outlets, so some appliances had to stay unplugged. The sheets and pillowcases were clean but clearly old and needed replacing. The paths and driveways to the doors hadn't been properly shoveled or salted. The two brothers who run the place didn't know what the other had promised and wouldn't try to help. At first I thought the place was quaint and nice, but I was quickly disappointed. Our reservation was for two nights, but they had mistakenly booked us into a one-bed room when we needed two. They accommodated us the first night, then said they were overbooked and had no room for us the second night, not even one with a single bed. It wasn't a good experience.

For two students traveling in Quebec on a budget, the price is great and the location is quite good. The staff were great too. Just know there's very little privacy because it's not soundproof at all. If you're using the parking, check with the employees first. We couldn't get out because other people were parked behind our car, and we had to pay for a taxi to downtown.
