Super 8 by Wyndham Quebec City

The kids loved the pool, hot tub and water slide, and the location worked well: away from the downtown bustle but close to the amenities we needed. Service was great, and the included breakfast was simple but suited us. Our family of five stayed in a room with three queen beds. It was mostly clean, though the windows were always condensed and had mildew around the frames, which seemed like a serious ventilation issue. The fridge was too small for us and froze all our produce.

The rooms were clean and new, and the service was decent. We liked the pool and the kids' play area, along with the included breakfast and free parking. The hotel and rooms are newly built in a quiet neighborhood, about a 20-minute drive from downtown. I'd recommend it to families traveling on a budget.

The breakfast was disappointing: just bread, no eggs or anything else, and there weren't any tea bags. The juice machine stopped working after 10. Clarion point next door is amazing.

The rooms were clean, fine and had what we needed, and being pet friendly is great. Check-in was smooth, but checkout was a disaster. The front desk lady struggled to find our reservation even though we'd stayed three nights, then charged us for the pets again despite our itinerary showing we'd paid. She didn't seem to care when I showed it to her. I'm very unhappy and may never stay at a Super 8 again. I've filed a formal complaint with Wyndham and will update this if they handle it better.
