Hotel Le Cavalier - M11

We’d definitely stay here again. The room was clean, and the little kitchen was practical and had the basics for simple cooking. The location is right in the middle of everything, just two short blocks from Chateau Frontenac.

The location is great, but I had a very disappointing stay at Hotel Le Cavalier Du Moulin in Quebec City last month. The hotel is under construction, so you may end up in a back building rather than the one shown on booking sites. The room might look similar to the confirmation photos, but the building itself doesn’t match what’s advertised. My room was behind the hotel, past piles of garbage from nearby restaurants and hotels. It was worn, the TV didn’t work, and the bathroom had seen better days. There’s no staff on site. If something goes wrong, you can only call a number, and they’ll do their best to brush complaints aside. Make sure you know whether you’re booking one of the advertised rooms or a back room behind the hotel, reached by walking past garbage bins. This “hotel” feels like a scam.

I was there in February 2024 and had an incredible time. There were lots of festivities around town, and the staff were fantastic and helpful. I’ll be back in 2026!

I left within five minutes because the room was so unhygienic. The sheets were dirty and had strands of hair on them, the bed felt unstable, and nearly every wall looked ready to fall apart. It seemed as if nobody had cleaned after the previous guest. Unit 7 looked nothing like the property’s photos. They offered only a partial refund. I’d give this place zero stars if I could. Stay away.
