The staff were the best part, and meeting Charles Tremblay and getting a selfie with him was definitely a highlight of the trip. I came on a school trip and thought the service was great. I know some people weren’t happy about the lack of hot breakfast items, but I was glad there were crepes and sausages. The rooms were nice and spacious, the beds comfortable, and the bathroom looked good. My only real complaints were that the bathroom door wouldn’t fully close and lock, and a couple of the lights by the bed didn’t work. Neither was a big problem. I’d recommend this hotel if you’re looking for somewhere near Quebec City.

I stayed one night for work. The hotel was quiet, the room was clean, and there’s a basic gym. Breakfast starts at 7:00, which didn’t work with my morning schedule. Apart from that, I recommend the hotel.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were friendly. The breakfast was extremely basic, so they might as well not advertise it. The AC/heater was also so noisy in our room, almost like having a 2009 toyota yaris running inside all the time.

Breakfast came with the room, but it was mostly sweet items, bread, jam, and fruit. There was nothing savory or hot, like eggs, so we couldn’t really have a proper breakfast. We stayed two nights and had booked two rooms close together, but one was on the first floor and the other on the fourth. The first-floor room was next to the laundry supply storage, and the strong smell of cleaning chemicals was disturbing. Its bathroom door wouldn’t lock, and the exhaust fan didn’t work. For a price comparable to a 4-star hotel, the facilities and service fell far short of what we expected.

The location and amenities were disappointing for the price. It felt like a hostel, with no glassware, bar, or place to have a drink inside. Everything was plastic and disposable. Breakfast was a letdown, mainly for kids who like sugary cereal and stale bread. The coffee was diluted, the bagels were stale, and the bread stayed the same all week. I don’t see why a continental breakfast couldn’t have waffles or soft and hard-boiled eggs. The photo shows a padlocked refrigerator with an extension cord running to the breakfast area. Imagine having a room next to that loud refrigerator. The outdoor pool was clean and welcome in the heat, and that seems to be the only reason the hotel keeps its three-star status. Buses to Quebec City are the best, cheapest, and fastest way to get downtown. The construction is scary, and the sidewalks in Ste Foy are crumbling, so be careful. A cab to the airport cost $35, though it’s only 12 km away. The hotel was overpriced for what it offered. It was clean, and I was able to change rooms without trouble, but the first room’s safe didn’t work, which matters when traveling solo. The room was hot, and the air wasn’t enough. Turning it up made it so loud. The TV volume was too low and fixed at one level, and there’s no Netflix or YouTube, though WiFi is free. There wasn’t enough hair conditioner, the shower smelled moldy and old, and the lighting was very dim. It was hard to do my makeup, and I had to turn on all the lights and open the curtains to pack. Try the hotel in Quebec City, it looks much nicer, but costs double. Quebec City is expensive, and the great shopping on Laurier in Ste Foy closes at 6:30 pm.
