After a long four-hour drive, my wife and I arrived to get a room, but nobody was at the front desk for quite a while. When someone finally came, she said we couldn't rent one without a credit card. We asked why the woman before us had been allowed to get a room without one, and she said it was because she'd known her a long time. That didn't make sense to us. She started yelling at us and then went into a little back room.

The location is very convenient, just off Highway 2 in Gasoline Alley, Red Deer, Alberta, but I ended up leaving unhappy. The front desk clerk was friendly and approachable. In the first room, I pulled back the sheets and found more than four hairs in the bed. They moved me when I asked, but there was even more hair on the sheets in the next room. The front desk said it might be because a dryer wasn't working properly or because not all the hair comes off the sheets. Either way, I wasn't comfortable sleeping in a bed that already had hair in it, so I cancelled and went to another hotel. Maybe it was just the rooms I was given, but I was not satisfied.

The breakfast was well stocked, and our hostess was easy to chat with. Our queen bed on the main floor was comfortable, the room was clean, and the shower had good water pressure in the morning. Great place to stay, and you can't beat the price: $106.97 with taxes included. I'd gladly come again.

The breakfast was simple but tasty, and parking was free. We liked being near the highway, and the room was comfortable. They welcomed us warmly and let us check in late. The only hassle was carrying our bags upstairs since there’s no elevator.
