Coachman Inn

With all respect, don’t stay here until they’ve done some renovations and cleaning. We went to Travelodge instead.

The biggest problem was how dirty and poorly maintained everything seemed. There were hair and blood on the bathroom door, black stains on the towels, and badly stained sheets with what I think was coffee and blood. The floor hadn’t been swept in a while, and the table hadn’t been wiped down. I also spotted cockroaches the next day. The windows and outside door were dirty too. One light switch did nothing, and only one side of the next light worked. The TV took a while to come on because the cable box wasn’t working properly. The thermostat was broken and there was no heat. As a building inspection, this hotel should be closed, cleaned, and repaired.

The food nearby is good, and there are parking spaces covered by security cameras. The doors lock, and I didn’t have any problems with other guests, though we were there on a quiet night. For a two-star hotel, the service was reasonable. Check your room when you arrive, and if you ask the front desk politely, they’ll take care of issues they can fix right away.

The rooms were fairly clean, and the bathroom was too. The mattress had an odd yellow stain, though. The AC worked well, as did the microwave and TV. The price was inexpensive without feeling suspiciously cheap. I’m grateful the manager held a reservation for me. I kept stopping by to say hi and let them know I was interested, because if I hadn’t checked in early, the room might have gone to someone else. I also liked being able to pay by debit card without putting a credit card on file.
