Motel 6 Regina, SK

Check-in was quick and friendly, and breakfast had lots of variety. The room was spacious, clean, and smelled nice, with comfy beds. My only issue was the shower water took about 5-10 minutes to warm up. Once it did, the pressure was good. That needs fixing, but everything else was great. Thanks!

Anika Hoffman, the general manager, made a difficult trip so much easier. We were driving from Ontario to Alberta to visit our kids for Thanksgiving when our dog got extremely sick after eating grapes someone had dropped near the welcome to Saskatchewan sign. Our vet back home said she’d need to be hospitalized for 2-3 days, so we picked this hotel because it was within walking distance of the emergency vet. Anika was caring and compassionate, made sure we had what we needed, and even arranged parking for our trailer. Our suite was large, clean, roomy, and comfortable, and the hotel was close to gas, food, Walmart, and Costco. They also have amazing fresh ground coffee available 24/7. We definitely recommend staying here.

We booked through Expedia after flying in from England and driving across two provinces over a few days. We’d been traveling for days and our bodies were aching, so we specifically chose a king-size deluxe suite with a jacuzzi tub. At check-in that evening, we were pleasantly surprised by how large the room was. Then we found the tub didn’t work. Staff simply said it was broken and offered no solution. When my partner explained why we’d booked and asked about switching to a comparable room with a working tub or getting a partial refund, we learned they already knew the tub in our suite was broken. They’d put us there without telling us or offering another option. They said our booking meant we couldn’t get a refund, partial or otherwise. Their proposed alternative was a smaller double/queen room, which they said had a working tub, though they only “think” it worked. We couldn’t check before accepting, they said we had to take their word for it. My partner took both key cards to gather our things and checked the new room before moving everything. A staff member lectured him for doing so. Nobody offered to check the room for us or apologized. We got an earful just for wanting to make sure the tub worked before taking a downgraded room without reimbursement. By the time we’d switched rooms it was late, and the tub was so loud we worried about disturbing the neighboring suites. The room was reasonably clean, but had a lot of damage: cracked floorboards, lifted flooring, patched holes, and marks and gouges on the walls. The bigger rooms felt bare and echoey, while the queen/double rooms seemed cramped. One staff member was reasonably friendly, another was downright rude. Given the cost compared with similar places, I’d recommend booking elsewhere. We’ll avoid Motel 6 on future trips across Canada. We knew it was unlikely they could fix the first room that late, with probably no maintenance staff on site. But we didn’t expect no other solution, especially since they clearly knew about the issue before we arrived. The pictures are of our second room. In all the chaos of moving, we couldn’t photograph the first one, which was much more damaged.

The staff were amazing, and the room was super clean. Best of all, there was no extra fee for our pets, which was really nice.
