The room and bed were clean, comfortable, and smelled fresh. I never needed staff, since everything I needed was already there, and the entry codes arrived in both the confirmation and reminder emails, so keep those handy. The place sits right on the main road, though the Fjord park is just across the street. I went in early for a hike before it officially opened and paid the $10 fee later. Watch for a porcupine wandering the streets in the morning. There are snack and ice cream trucks on site, but the little market is priced like a small convenience shop, so I’d get groceries in town. In room 202, the private bathroom had a very small shower and nowhere to set toiletries. My things kept sliding into the sink, and after five days I had to leave them out. A shelf above the toilet would help. There’s also no long bar for towels, so one hanging on a corner hook doesn’t dry well. The AC worked, and there were plenty of coat hooks. I also had a Nespresso machine and two coffees. Bring an extension cord, because the outlets were across the room from the bed. There’s no TV in the room, so bring a tablet if you want one. The shared lounge does have AC, couches, and a TV, and it was comfortable to relax in after supper. The kitchen is lovely and well supplied with dishes, knives, cutting boards, coffee, and tea. They provide two eggs, bread, and peanut butter for breakfast. I brought meat and vegetables to add to my omelette, and stored them in the full-size guest fridge. I could hear the person using the toilet in room 201, and footsteps from upstairs, but not conversation through the thick walls. That was a relief, since there’s nothing worse than hearing people chatter.
