Massey Motel

Even with the room right beside Highway 17, it was surprisingly quiet, clean, and cozy. The staff were caring, welcoming people. I’d happily stay again and recommend it. Thanks for the hospitality.

The front desk woman was nice, and the location just off 17 was convenient. There was lots of hot water and the pressure was good. But our room was dingy from top to bottom, and apparently not one of the remodeled rooms. It smelled musty, the floors were sticky, the bedding had pet hair and there was no fitted sheet. The chair frames and bathroom heater were rusty, some bulbs were out, and the outlet for the microwave and mini fridge was hanging out of the wall. There was no deadbolt or chain either. We expected more based on the reviews and website. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The shower was fantastic, probably the best I’ve had, and the sheets and towels were very clean. I always check for bugs, and the room was clean. I got there late, but they stayed up to check me in, and communication was great. It could use fresh paint and some updates, though it still felt comfortable. I slept really well.

The manager was a big help in pointing me toward places to eat and things to do around town. They cleaned the room every day, too. I’d highly recommend it.
