Auberge Le Parasol

The front patio’s campfire area was a great place to spend the evening, and our room had a lovely view that we enjoyed from the balcony. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, though a little dated and not as clean as it should have been. There was a used coffee pod in the Keurig, dust came out from beneath the water reservoir when I filled it, and the shower soap packet was already open. We couldn’t get a decent wifi connection. We’d hoped to eat at the restaurant, but it was booked for an event, and there wasn’t anywhere else within walking distance. There’s no microwave provided either.

We had a great stay and hope to come back. The grounds and our room both had lovely views, the restaurant was great, and the pool was wonderfully refreshing. Everything was meticulous and clean, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and kind. Merci beacon Le Parasol!

Odd setup at the restaurant, the plates have to pass through the bar with the poker machine on their way to the dining room. Our group of 8 pers had a Reservation, but still waited 1h.

The room was clean and modest, just what you need when the rest of the place is so pleasant. The grounds and view alone would make it worthwhile, and the restaurant was a welcome surprise, with what has to be the best patio in the region. Staff were very professional. If you don’t need a room, it’s still worth coming for the restaurant. There’s also a pleasant 30 minute walk to the old port and the historic bridge, now dedicated to cyclists and pedestrians. The town centre has nice public spaces, but it felt empty on a Sunday, even in high season. Staying on the edge of downtown like this worked well.
