Jaune Hôtel Boutique

The room smelled musty when we got in, and we never received a door code, so we had to find someone outside in the kitchen. We had booked two nights, then canceled the second night 48 hours before arrival. The JauneHotel website’s Cancellation Info link said “Free Cancellation,” as did our booking confirmation dated June 5, 2025. The hotel refused to refund the second night and changed the website wording afterward to “7 days prior to arrival for refund.” I found that after-the-fact change dishonest, as if it was meant to justify changing the cancellation policy. They’re adamant, so I have no choice but not to return, and to leave a negative review.

We were charged twice, and getting the full refund was a problem. Before our arrival date, our credit card was charged without any notice. On the day we arrived, we were asked to pay for the stay, and we did. When the credit card statement came, there were two charges for the stay under two different business names. We notified the business right away, but there was no apparent response for several days. It took several follow-ups over several days to get a refund. A refund was eventually made, but only for part of the hidden charge. No apology was offered in any form, and the customer was insulted.

We stopped here for a meal on the blueberry cycling route. The food was delicious and the service impeccable.
