Le 2800 du Parc

We've stayed at the Chretien chalet at Le 2800 du Parc two years in a row, while family visited from overseas. It's a lovely, peaceful place in a superb location, with spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the water. There's a private jetty for morning swims, or you can just relax on the deck and enjoy the rising sun and tranquil waters of Rivière La Mauricie. It's perfect for day trips into La Mauricie National Park. We look forward to our next adventure there. Thank you, highly recommend!

On the second day of our stay for an on-site wedding, the power went out at 2pm while I was in the shower. We had no water, hydro, or air-conditioning until 9am the next morning, and the place has no backup generator. They run a restaurant and resort and host weddings, so how is that possible? Nobody brought guests flashlights or bottles of water, and staff didn't even stay on site overnight. You can imagine the state of the toilets. At checkout, a clerk asked, "how was your stay". There was no compensation or apology, not even a free cup of their $5.00 coffee. I emailed them, and they said they'd decided not to reimburse any overnight guests, then signed off with "have a nice day". The manager was unprepared and uncaring. They know nothing about customer service. STAY ELSEWHERE.

This little microbrewery has excellent craft beers. They serve food, too, but we only had beer when we stopped by. A hike in the park followed by a beer here makes for a perfect day.

Lovely spot, and the view of the saint Maurice is awesome.
