Carl made our one night stay wonderful. He was a great host, very accommodating, full of local knowledge, and had brochures for us to look through. His suggestions were so good that we spent more time touring downtown St. John than we’d planned. Everything was within walking distance, and during breakfast it was lovely to chat with Carl and the other guests and share tips about the area. Breakfast was delicious, with fruit, yogurt, homemade omelettes, toast, coffee, tea, and juice. We stayed in the Cranberry Room, which suited our needs, though the ensuite toilet, sink, and shower area was very small. The small balcony was a nice spot to sit and enjoy the evening. The house has a lot of character, with antiques and the beauty of an older home, and our room was very clean. Laundry facilities were a plus, and the location was handy for good restaurants and Market Square, where there was live music. The food was okay. The owner seemed aloof, and we couldn’t tell if he was sad or simply didn’t like us.

Uptown Saint John was easy to explore from Mahogany Manor, and Carl made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived. The house is incredible, too. We had a great stay and highly recommend it. Thanks, Carl 👍

Breakfast both mornings was the best we've had at a Canadian bed and breakfast, and the whole house has a lovely atmosphere for a getaway. My husband and I spent two nights at Mahogany Manor, and it became a highlight of our Atlantic Canada trip. Our room was cozy, beautifully decorated, and had a balcony. Carl was friendly and interesting to talk with, and gave us helpful tips on places to visit and excellent restaurants. We definitely plan to come back soon.

Carl & Jim are gems, and the breakfast was delicious. We loved our stay at Mahogany Manor, especially the character-filled, cute room and fantastic location. We'll definitely stay here again if we're back in St John.
