The property is pleasant and sits on St Marys Lake, with lawn chairs, picnic tables, row boats and kayaks for guests. Our cabin was rustic but comfortable apart from the water trouble, and the bed was very comfortable. The deck had patio furniture and a BBQ. The kitchen often had water when the bathroom didn't, but there were no serving dishes or ice trays, and just one small pot, which we often had to use to rinse off in the shower. We were there for three nights in August and had no water in the cabin for most of the stay. Staff told us the problem had already been going on for two weeks and a plumber had tried to fix it several times, but no one mentioned it before we arrived or at check-in. We found out when we went to shower. The caretaker tried to help but could only do so much. At checkout, we met the General Manager for the first time. He said he couldn't authorize compensation, but promised the owner would contact us. That didn't happen, and my call to the resort went unanswered and wasn't returned. Update: the owner did get in touch and offered compensation.

I had a lovely weekend here. The setting is beautiful and peaceful, and the clean, modern cabins are comfortable and well equipped. I also enjoyed borrowing a boat and paddling, they have both a row boat and a kayak.

The grounds are gorgeous, with lake views and great spaces to spend time together. The cabins feel inviting, have comfortable beds, and come with everything you might need. Staff were so friendly and helpful. This was my second visit to Lakeshore on Salt Spring, and I know it won't be my last. A peaceful, tranquil getaway I'd recommend to anyone. Add it to your vacation list, you won't be disappointed ❤

My family stayed here and really liked the convenient location, full kitchen and clear view across the private beach on St. Mary Lake. The grounds are beautiful, and being able to use the canoes and kayaks for free was a lovely bonus. It looks like the new owners have made a lot of upgrades. Salt Spring Island can get popular and places to stay are limited, so book ahead.

The lake view was amazing, and so were the canoe and row boat. I was there on a school trip, though, and several problems made the stay at Lakeshore a bad experience. One classmate's RV had no hot water. During the first few days, our cabin doorknob broke and was never repaired, so we had to leave the door open to avoid getting locked inside. Bugs then got into the cabin. A colleague's shower also broke and was never fixed, leaving the whole cabin group to use showers in other people's places for the rest of the stay. I hope future guests are treated with more respect and that their concerns get handled in a timely way.
