Comfort Inn Saskatoon Centre

I never stayed at this hotel, but they're keeping my money. Other reviews also mention bed bugs, so I'd strongly advise avoiding it. I was comparing one-night prices in Saskatoon on Expedia. The full cost doesn't show until the last step, and while checking it I accidentally booked a room. My card was already saved to Expedia, so I was charged right away. The reservation couldn't be cancelled, which felt deeply exploitative in this situation. I contacted Expedia within seconds. They said they'd ask the hotel for a refund under their waiver for accidental bookings. For six days they told me they were calling the hotel without getting an answer. Today they said they'd finally reached someone, but the hotel refused to refund me. Expedia said they'd pushed for flexibility, but the hotel still wouldn't agree. I've never written a Google review before, but after this experience I feel I need to warn people. This feels predatory and unethical.

The room was in rough shape. The mattresses were worn and sagging, the box springs were filthy, and there was leftover food on the floor, including fries and mints. The sink was cracked and patched underneath, and the toilet float stuck so the tank wouldn't fill. When my husband pulled back the curtain to take the dog out, the rod fell on his head. Someone else traveling with two little dogs left them alone for well over an hour, and they barked the whole time. It wasn't really the hotel's fault, but they should have dealt with it. People traveling with pets shouldn't leave them unattended and disturb others. We've had great stays at many Comfort Inn's, but this one was a letdown. Don't bother sleeping here.

We've been back every two weeks for two nights at a time for over a year. The staff are wonderful, especially Rav, the best concierge I've ever had. The breakfast lady is the sweetest, and the maintenance man is great. The place is clean, well cared for, and in the middle of renovations. The staff make up for whatever the hotel may be lacking.

A good value hotel, with friendly staff, well-finished rooms and very fair prices. It's close to the airport and only a quick drive downtown. Just keep in mind there are no elevators to the second-floor rooms.
