Best Western Blairmore

As a Best Western Reward member, I was very disappointed to be charged a $30 early check-in fee for arriving just one hour before check-in. I’ve never had a hotel charge me for coming an hour early before. I’ll be in Saskatoon for work every month and had hoped to stay somewhere friendly. Instead, this hotel felt very expensive for what it offers. I paid around $250 per night, which is far too much for this level of hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it.

I urgently needed a room for the night, and after nearby hotels were full I returned to a Best Western where I’d stayed many times with family, friends, and my children. My husband had stayed with me there multiple times using his card, and I’d also stayed there without him using that same card. I thought of myself as a valued customer. The man at the front desk first said a room was available. But when I explained I’d be paying with my husband’s card, he became annoyed and condescending, then said there was nothing he could do and I couldn’t stay. I reminded him I’d booked and stayed there alone with that card before, but he insisted I must be mistaken. I pleaded because I desperately needed the room, but he wouldn’t help further. I understand the policy about booking with someone else’s card, but his refusal to believe me and the way he spoke to me felt incredibly disrespectful. I’ve stayed alone here many times on my husband’s card. Best Western has lost a couple of valued customers. The front desk especially needs more empathetic staff.

Big pillows, a comfy bed, and an amazing breakfast.

The people are usually friendly, and breakfast is normally good, though the breakfast room gets hot as hell. I keep choosing this place because it’s close to where I work, but this last stay left a bad taste. I was told something was missing from the room, even though I hadn’t touched it, and they charged me for it anyway. The manager didn’t seem to care when I brought it up, and said as much.
