The staff were polite and friendly, and parking was easy for me, despite what I’d heard. Maybe it’s improved now. The room was clean, with a good bed and shower. The pillows could’ve been better, though they rarely are. For coffee and food, OEB cafe next door was good, but I couldn’t try the hotel’s offering because the hours didn’t work with my schedule. Del Rey Cafe is also close by and worth the walk for coffee. If you want something sweet, Shoppe has lovely pastries and desserts. I’d make a point of eating local: FILOSOPHI AND LOQUI were great, and “odd couple” was quite nice too. Earls has a great emporium attached, called Ingredients or something like that, plus the usual food options. It’s always good, though I’d still rather try a local restaurant. Same goes for cactus club. The art gallery across the street is worth a visit. You can donate what you can, and it’s a nice place to relax for a bit, especially on a business trip.

The location and incredible view keep bringing me back, and this was my third stay. The staff really care. On my first visit, I was in town after my dad had a heart attack, and they left a lovely note in my room. Later, my sister and I came to work on our parents’ estate after Dad passed away. Brook had left a thoughtful note, delicious chocolate bark, and fresh robes on both beds. After the long drive from Calgary, she completely made our day. The hotel feels modern, and the rooms are clean and spacious. For a good breakfast or lunch, OEB is right next door.

The place has a modern, alternative style that I liked. The big windows and great views, clean rooms, good service, and friendly, positive staff were all highlights. If you just need somewhere to sleep and get ready to head out, it works well. For what we paid, though, the stay felt mediocre. Our mini fridge was way too small, there were no drawers in the room, and there was no microwave. A few small fixes could make the experience much more enjoyable.

We stayed four nights for a wedding and would happily return. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the river views were beautiful. The rooms are small but work well. Robes would be a nice addition, and bigger mini fridges would help too. We couldn’t figure out how to keep water from leaking past the shower door and across the bathroom. On site parking is limited and tight, and costs $20 per day.

The noise made it nearly impossible to sleep. We could hear everything upstairs, even though the other guests weren’t being loud, along with doors closing on the floor. The rooms aren’t soundproof at all. We also found stains on the bed and chair, and the room wasn’t clean. When we raised it with the staff and management, they said they’d pass the information to housekeeping, and that was all. There’s very little storage, and the rooms themselves are very small, so the king room with a river view wasn’t worth the extra cost. Parking is a very small area. When it fills up, you’re sent to a separate tower parkade, which costs extra. We won’t stay again.
