The Inn on College

It felt more like a rooming house or hostel. The view from the bedrooms didn’t look like the pictures, and the room only had a bed, desk, chair, TV, plus one towel and one facecloth, even though they knew there were two of us. The place was very clean and the staff were helpful. It’s close to the university, right on a very busy road. When we arrived, the gentleman showed us the shared living room, kitchen with a fridge, and shared bathrooms. He said the stove couldn’t be used, but the morning staff could make breakfast for $5 if we asked. There was no blow dryer in the bathroom, and the bedrooms didn’t have an iron or ironing board.

The room was decent and the service was okay. After checking out, I realized I’d forgotten my money and went back to reception. A Black girl there was rude and unhelpful. Then Sharath came over and we got our money back. He was good and helpful, thanks.

There were sex stains on the sheets. I asked for clean ones, and she tried three other sets, but they were stained too, so I had to sleep on dirty sheets. The internet kept dropping out and was nearly useless. The listing said rooms had air conditioning and a fan, but there was neither, so be ready to freeze your butt off. It also claimed breakfast was served daily, but no breakfast was served. It said there was a refrigerator and coffee maker in the room, but neither was there. The listing also said every room had a patio, which wasn’t true. And you share a bathroom with six other rooms. They’re trying to call this a boutique hotel, but it’s barely a step above a hostel. Avoid it!

It was incredibly hot in the room, and I sweated all night and into the morning even with the window open. There’s no thermostat, and the vents don’t shut. When I went to make coffee in the morning, there were no takeaway cups and no milk.
