Venture Inn Hotel

I’ve never seen a room this disgusting. The floor had grit and gravel all over it, so I wore shoes the whole time. The beds were made, but I doubt the sheets were fresh. There was hair on the pillows and in the bed when I pulled back the sheets, which were wrinkled. The tub was unusable: the shower walls had layers of soap scum and clumps of hair. Brown smears covered the front of the sink counter and the wall by the light switch. Check-in was a nightmare, and the receptionist was rude and abrasive from the moment I arrived. I asked for another towel because my hair is extremely long and was refused. The second day, I asked for cleaning products so my children and I could shower after cleaning the tub. I got aggression and hostility again, and after an argument they handed me a bottle of Windex. Charging people to stay in filth like this is criminal.

My car was broken into in the motel parking lot, right in front of a camera and beside busy Idylwyld Drive. The driver’s window was smashed, and someone got into the trunk and stole three bags of clothes. When I told the front desk in the morning, the guy casually said, “Ya it happened around 1 am.” After I filed a police report, I asked about video and was told the camera faced the other way. The employees I spoke to about it turned red and quickly blamed me for parking in that spot. Wherever a guest parks on the property, a reputable accommodation should make sure their belongings are safe. I wish I’d read the reviews before staying at Venture Inn Motel. The place smelled of cigarettes, there were cockroaches in the washrooms, and my first-day room had no exhaust fan, just one dangling from the ceiling. I paid $100 a night, but this ended up costing much more in time and money. Spend an extra $100 for somewhere better. As someone once said, cheap things are costly. One positive: the employees were nice, knew their jobs, and handled requests promptly. At the same time, they all seemed stressed, panicked, and close to breaking down.

The manager got aggressive when I asked for a refund. The place was filthy, the sheets had blood stains, and cockroaches were everywhere. Awful experience, 0/10. Do NOT go near this place.

The bathroom hadn’t been cleaned, and there was half a bag of heroine on the bathroom shelf when we arrived. The bed was dirty and the room smelled like a dirty old man. One of the dirtiest hotels I’ve ever been in. I wouldn’t let my dog stay here.
