Hilton Garden Inn Saskatoon Downtown

The $16 a day parking charge added up, and it hadn’t been clearly disclosed when we booked. The lot was outdoors and aboveground, with no visible security. It hadn’t been plowed during our stay, leaving ice and puddles that made walking and driving through it messy and unsafe. We were also frustrated by the room service ordering process, and housekeeping was inconsistent over our five days. Our garbage was emptied only once, and the coffee supplies weren’t replenished. The staff were polite and friendly, but the hotel lacked the usual Hilton feel we’ve had at other properties. The stay wasn’t awful, but for a Hilton it didn’t feel like good value. Next time in Saskatoon, we’ll probably try the Best Western across the street, with its free parking in a secured garage.

Khyz was so kind and accommodating while helping us with our room. The rest of the staff were wonderful too, and when we found that the microwave wasn’t working, the front desk sorted it out quickly so we stayed comfortable. Our room was spotless and modern, and parking was convenient and easy to figure out. I’m in Saskatoon often to visit family, and I’ll definitely stay here again.

The location worked perfectly, near a mall and plenty of places to eat. The lot was under surveillance, which helped me feel safe, and the staff were friendly, helpful, and great. The room was comfortable too. Really nice stay, I’d come back.

We were in town for a youth volleyball tournament, and there wasn’t anywhere open after 11 am where the kids could eat. The only breakfast restaurant charged $20 for a continental-style meal, something other hotels provide free. Two of the three elevators were out of service at one point, and some kids even got stuck in one. The whirlpool was closed as well. Lounge food was just okay: my steak sandwich was quite good, but my husband’s nachos came with watery cheese sauce instead of real cheese. The furniture was pretty run down.
