The pub next door made the area loud, with lots of drunk people around. People in the park didn’t seem particularly safe, and we could hear them from the window, which made it hard to sleep. The hotel itself is super old, and the pictures made it look more updated than it was. Renovations were underway when I arrived. Staff would rather chat with each other than help guests, and the elevators were so slow that, with our two dogs, it took forever to get one at checkout. If you want to stay downtown, it’s a good option. The parking lot was okay, with 6’8 clearance, just enough for our truck. I wouldn’t call it truck-friendly, though, since the spaces are still tight. Parking was pretty busy, maybe because of the pub next door.

The stay was good overall, and the hotel is in a convenient location. My only frustration came at checkout, when I was charged $18 for parking for one night. Nobody told me about the charge at check-in. The receptionist asked for my license plate but never explained that parking wasn’t included. With that lack of communication, I’d stay somewhere else next time.

The staff were really friendly, but the food and cleanliness were awful. Breakfast had more dessert choices than breakfast items, and the sausage was hard and disgusting while the bacon was far too salty. The pool floor was covered in hair, so I wouldn't walk barefoot there. My queen economy room had hair on the bathroom walls, stained sheets, and mold or gunk in a corner. They moved me to a king executive room, but its sheets had hair on them too. I wouldn't recommend this place.

We came to Saskatoon for the Hozier concert and booked a cheap economy room for one night. After the concert, when we pulled back the pillows and duvet around 11:30 p.m., there was a pile of dirt and bugs under the bedding. The first options from the desk were to change the sheets ourselves or share the one clean queen bed, since no other rooms were available. The night manager eventually found us a cancelled suite, but that wasn't much better. In less than 24 hours we dealt with a dirty bed that was supposedly freshly made and looked buggy, greasy handprints on mirrors, windows and walls, and handprints above the headboard. There were cracked outlet covers, a lamp cord that shorted when pushed against the wall, and lights that flickered and buzzed. The AC units were incredibly loud. We also had half-sized windows in the original second-floor room, a carpeted pool area with clumps of hair at the side, and construction mess in the halls, with dust, dirt and exposed wires we had to step around while finding our room. Renovations hadn't been mentioned until after booking, and the elevator wasn't available during construction hours, which was a problem for accessibility. Even the rooms called “luxury” had issues. We initially thought the first room was okay, though nothing special, and we only booked it because we needed somewhere for the night. I've stayed in sketchy places before, but this was horrendous. The staff didn't really fix things, although the night manager did his best with what he had. A comped breakfast or discount after moving rooms at 12:30 in the morning would have gone a long way. I spent my hard-earned money on a hotel instead of an Airbnb or another motel, and this was unacceptable. I won't stay again and wouldn't recommend it when there are much nicer places in Saskatoon for the price. I have videos of the faulty bulbs and lamp wiring, but Google doesn't let me add videos to reviews.

The bathroom was beautiful, though I didn't try the gym or pool, so I can't speak to those. The room itself was small and didn't leave me feeling very safe. The walls were so thin, and someone kept smoking by the exterior door near our window. We could smell it constantly even with the window shut.
