Staybridge Suites Saskatoon - University by IHG

The staff were nice and the place was very clean. The suite was spacious, with a full-size fridge and dishwasher, and I liked having the bathtub in a separate room from the mirrored sink area. That said, the light shines right at whoever's sleeping, and a door between those areas would help. The pillows were too round for my cervical spine issues. The pool was very cold, but the jacuzzi was nice, and happy hour was a good perk, with two free alcoholic drinks in the social room. The snack wasn't great, but when you're hungry, you eat. There are three big BBQs outside and a firepit to stand around. They also had lots of snacks for sale, but buyer beware, everything cost double what it does in stores. There isn't a restaurant. My arrival was awful. The front desk person kept going back and forth between the Staybridge and Holiday Inn sides, which was frustrating when you're handicapped. After getting a key, I went upstairs with all my luggage. The elevators were slow, and a worker told me three times to turn left after getting off. By then I was sore, tired, and anxious, and on my third try the key still didn't work. I called the front desk from my cell, hoping someone could come up, but ended up seeing a staff member who went downstairs and told me to use the house phone by the elevator. The hotel is two hotels in one, and the signs aren't clear. I had the right room number, but for the wrong hotel, since both hotels have rooms with identical numbers on each floor. Staybridge is to the right and Days Inn is to the left. It's so confusing. I was ready to leave.

We had around 40 people at the hotel for a ball tournament, and everyone had good things to say. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the fully stocked kitchenette was handy. Breakfast was free and had a nice range of options. On a few days, there was also happy hour with free appetizers and drinks. The hotel was great, and the staff were amazing. I’d definitely recommend it.

We’re in a two-bedroom suite, which is spacious, very clean, and well equipped for a family with kids. The full kitchen has everything we need. The breakfast was lovely, with real dishes instead of disposables and lots of fresh fruit, including strawberries and pineapple. There are even free laundry machines, which I’ve never seen elsewhere. The pool area is bright and clean too. After our luggage was delayed on the way here, a kind front desk lady found a little flashlight for the kids to use as a nightlight. The hotel itself is bright and clean, one of the best I’ve stayed in after travelling extensively around the world. It would be helpful to have luggage racks. We’ll definitely return. Thanks for making travel with children easier!

The complimentary breakfast was really nice, and the hotel has great amenities. It’s dog friendly and convenient when visiting the Veterinary Hospital. My one complaint is all the cigarette butts scattered outside. The property is marked strictly non-smoking, but that doesn’t seem to be enforced. A smoking area farther from the building, with somewhere to put the butts, could reduce litter. The fireplace and BBQ area is lovely for guests, but smokers were occupying it constantly.
