The hosts are the reason we keep coming back. Jenny and Don are friendly, helpful, funny, and so accommodating. I’ve stayed here five times, twice with my husband and every year for the past 3 years for a girlfriends’ weekend. The Huron Cottage is where my husband and I have stayed, and I’ve also enjoyed the Bowman-Panamaker Room and Smith Suite with my girlfriend. Each has its own style and feel, and all were lovely. At Chantry Breezes, the garden is pretty and private. We’ve had quiet morning and evening tea there while listening to the waves. The fresh homemade breakfasts change each morning and are served in this stunning Victoria home. There are lovely shops and a variety of restaurants within walking distance, and the beach is just 3 minutes away. It’s a beautiful place to sit by the water, watch the sunset, or wander the beach on a peaceful beachcombing walk, whether the day is calm or windy. We went to Saugeen Beach on a very windy, overcast day in Sept this year, and loved its cool, raw, wild feel. It’s also about a 30 min drive away. Owen Sound is less than an hr away, with nice downtown shops and a year-round Farmer’s Market on Saturdays from 8-12:30pm. I love this place and always look forward to coming back.
